The nature and role of NPSPD The National Parents Society of Persons with Disability (NPSPD), founded in 1976, is an organization which caters for the needs of people with disability and their families. It is a leader in bringing forth disability issues to the public domain and engages in discussion with all parties who have at heart the interests of people with disability. NPSPD is a founder member of: Dar il-Kaptan (1st respite home),
LAND (Living Ability, Not Disability) a voluntary group for youths and leisure
Autism Parents’ Association.
It organizes social activities for its members and has good and strong working relationships with the authorities and with professionals. NPSPD has been a registered a Voluntary Organization (VO) since 2009. Among its main aims, the NPSPD strives to be:

Throughout the many years from its inception, NPSPD has always been at the forefront lobbying to safeguard the rights of parents of people with disability, especially those parents whose children cannot represent themselves, people with disabilities themselves irrespective of the impairment families of people with disability. Our interest is to work in collaboration with anyone who is truly committed to work in the best interest of the person with disability and their families.
